The Metropolitan Museum of Art saw celebrities and everyone from the fashion world on Monday as they walked the red carpet in their extraordinary and flamboyant outfits. The annual fashion party that captures every fashionista’s attention left us in awe. The event that was canceled last year returned to mark the opening of its banner fashion exhibition. All the stars, athletes, drag queens, and models followed this year’s theme "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" and showed their own version of all-American.
Billie Eilish, Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka, Amanda Gorman, Rihanna, Hunter Schafer, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, Simone Biles, Kim Kardashian were among the many celebs who walked on the opening night. While Kim Kardashian’s outfit by Balenciaga led to a number of memes on social media, Lil Nas X was wearing four outfits all by Donatella Versace and gave us a recap of Lady Gaga from the 2018 Met Gala. This year was also Elliot Page’s first appearance after him coming out. We also saw Suddha Reddy walk in a Falguni And Shane Peacock gown and was the only Indian to be invited this year. CL showed up in a denim ensemble with a traditional knot used to fasten Korean traditional costumes. The event that opened on Monday will be open to the public in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18.
