New Update

Controversy has found Mika Singh once again, and we have to say it took longer than expected. This time, the singer is in trouble for saying the words, ‘ Hamara Pakistan ’ in a video that is now going viral.

The video in question was posted on YouTube where Mika Singh is speaking to the camera, addressing his fans and urging them to visit his concert in Houston and Chicago on 13th August. Mika is seen with a Pakistani show promoter. He utters the words ' Hamara Pakistan ' aimed at urging his Pakistani fans in the US to also attend his show.

As is common knowledge, the Pakistani and Indian Independence Days arrive one day after the other, on 14th and 15th August, although the animosity between the two nations and their citizens is also well known.

Mika Singh’s ‘ Hamara Pakistan ’ comments did not go down well with the Twitterati as they descended upon his Twitter account, calling him all the anti national names they knew of!

For some reason, Republic TV appeared to have shared a wildly inaccurate version of the controversy which I fail to understand. Somehow authenticity has taken a backseat to sensationalism.

On a political note, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena thought it was a good opportunity to leverage the fiasco politically as one of their leaders, Ameya Khopkar has threatened Mika Singh and dared him to hold a ‘Mic’ in Maharashtra.
