All you need to know about the 'Hindu Pakistan' row

Shashi Tharoor while addressing a rally at Thiruvananthapuram called the BJP's vision for India as that akin to a Hindu Pakistan. The MP received an enormous backlash from bhakts and non-bhakts alike.

Congress MP, Shashi Tharoor said that the BJP's vision for India is as good as forming a Hindu Pakistan while addressing a rally at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerela.

In case you missed it, this is the statement from Shashi Tharoor:

"If they (BJP) win a repeat in the Lok Sabha, our democratic constitution as we understand it, will not survive as they will have all the elements they need to tear apart the constitution of India and write a new one.That new one will be the one which will enshrine principles of Hindu Rashtra, that will remove equality for minorities, that'll create a Hindu Pakistan and that isn't what Mahatama Gandhi, Nehru, Sardar Patel, Maulana Azad and great heroes of freedom struggle fought for."

The MP from INC clarified his statement through a post from his official Facebook account.

The statement came in the wake of the caste and religion politics played by the ruling BJP to create nationwide vote banks and divide the country based on the lines of majoritarianism.

However, his statement was not well received by the twitterati and they attacked him down with their own allegations, abuses and disfigured tweets.
