Netflix's Kathal - A Jackfruit Mystery received a whole lot of praise from the Janta!

Kathal - A Jackfruit Mystery starring Sanya Malhotra released on Netflix on May 19 and was an instant hit amongst the Janta! Have a look.

Written by Ashok Mishra and directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, Kathal - A Jackfruit Mystery is about a case of a missing jackfruit that creates havoc in a small fictional town, Moba. The film stars Sanya Malhotra as Inspector Mahima Basor who is assigned the case and while she is desperately trying to solve this strange case, she is also trying to prove herself worthy of her position. Kathal also stars Anant V. Joshi, Gurpal Singh, Neha Saraf, Vijay Raaz, and Rajpal Yadav.

The Janta found Kathal fresh and relatable and this film had a feel good vibe according to them. For the Janta, Kathal made several subtle social commentaries on caste, class, police, politicians, the administrative system, media in small towns while being a complete entertainer.

#KATHAL is a mixed bag. While it engages & entertains at several points, it falls short of maintaining a consistent level of amusement throughout. The stellar performances by the cast is its USP. An average film lacking the coherence & sustained entertainment.

It usually takes me 3-4 days to complete even a 90 minutes film, strangely I watched #Kathal in one go. Something about it is sweet more than funny. Simple story touching upon the right issues, narrated without any drama or overkill. #SanyaMalhotra is ❤️
