Darlings trailer

The Darlings trailer shows us Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Verma, and Roshan Matthew, and the movie will release on August 5!

Earlier, Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings released a teaser that intrigued the audience but didn't give out anything on what the film is about. Now the Darlings trailer is out and it puts everything in clear perspective. It looks like in Netflix's Darlings, Alia Bhatt along with her mother, Shefali Shah is all out for revenge on her husband, Vijay Varma whom she has kidnapped in their own home. Directed by Jasmeet K Reen, Darlings takes a highly complicated social issue and turns it into a comedy film with a dark twist.

According to the two and half minutes trailer, Badrunissa (Alia) is married to Hamza Shaikh (Vijay) who is a TC but often made to clean toilets and loves his wife a lot but suddenly goes missing. While Badrunissa along with her mother (Shefali) goes to file a missing complaint, the police seem to think this is a dead-end case. We see a twist where Hamza is seen, on a number of occasions, hitting and assaulting Badrunissa. After a point, Badrunissa seems to have had enough, and she decides that she doesn't want to let him get out of this easily. Instead, she wants to treat him the same way he has treated her, and with the help of her mother, she kidnaps her own husband. Tied up Hamza gets beaten up by a frying pan, gets rat-poisoned food, and much more.

The film also stars Roshan Matthew as Zulfi, who is probably Badrunissa's cousin who seems to be aiding the two in Hamza's hiding and kidnapping. How Alia takes her revenge, teaches her husband a lesson, and does it all while hiding it from everybody will produce all the comedy in this otherwise dark story. This film also marks Alia Bhatt’s first venture as a producer!
