New Traffic Rules

Traffic rules and regulations have always been a cause for worry for both the citizens and officials. While the laws have always been in place courtesy of the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988, it hasn't exactly been perfect. With fines so low that offenders wouldn't bat an eye to faulty breath analyzers, to the public's blatant disregard for their own road safety, many factors have resulted in this Act being revised and new traffic rules being brought into effect.

Here is a full list of the new traffic rules and we don't need a red signal to make you stop and take a look.

The increase in fines and punishment are sure to make people think more than twice before breaking traffic rules and ignoring safety precautions. The steep changes might be levied but there are still some sections which don't clearly define rules and their limitations and or extent such as Dangerous Driving. The revised rules also state that for underage drivers, the guardian or owner of the vehicle will be held guilty and a penalty of Rs. 25,000 will be charged to the. They will also have to face three years in jail with their registration being cancelled.

The new traffic rules are stricter, it's time for the citizens to follow through and ensure their personal safety. And whether or not they succeed in bringing a change, Twitter has successfully managed to turn it into a tweetstorm along with a meme fest!

Here's how Twitter reacted to the new traffic rules:

Next time you're ready to hit the road, make sure you're following all the traffic rules if for nothing else then the safety of your bank balance!
