Every year the streaming giant is known to put out a plethora of content out of which a lot shapes our pop culture! So it was rather surprising to watch all the Netflix stars of 2024 come together!
Remember when all of us decoding Aditi Rao Hydari’s Gaja Gamini walk on social media? How we were obsessed with how stunningly she did that and how gorgeous she looked? Well, only Netflix can make the Heeramandi star to do that walk again for us along with Lucky (Zayed Khan) from Main Hoon Na! If this wasn’t enough, we had the queen of reality TV, Shalini Passi sing along with Darshan Magdum on one of her most iconic lines from the Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives show “The only reason I don’t hold grudges is because it affects my skin”. Then we had Taapsee Pannu recreate one of her most popular scenes from Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba.

Speaking of recreation, we also had Sparsh Srivastava and Nitanshi Goel from the lovely cast of Laapataa Ladies make our hearts melt once again with their ‘English bolke bataye’ scene, with a twist of Sparsh’s love for Jaspreet Bumrah post India winning the T20 world cup this year. While Laapataa Ladies garnered a lot of acclaim during its big screen release, it was Netflix that really made it popular amongst the viewers. Then we had our screens suddenly turn into black and white, that’s when we instantly knew we’re getting a Kota factory flashback. We had Vaibhav as usual expressing his concern over his marks. The finale of this 2024 playback of course had to end with a big bang. We had Munnawar and Elvish Yadav in the same frame playing the red light green light game from Squid Game season 1. There cannot be a Netflix playback without its most popular show and getting these rival reality stars helping each other out for once is a moment that the fans will take some time to get over.
2024 has been a great year in terms of OTT content and Netflix plays a huge role in that. So it fully made sense for the streaming platform to give us an end of the year rewind and make us realise actually how much we keep up with content and how it seeps into our daily lingo as well!
Shedding light on the same Akash Shah (Founder of One Hand Clap) said "The constant question we asked ourselves was: Is this “what India consumed,” or is this “what consumed India”? It should always be the latter. This filter helped us arrive at moments that the nation was truly obsessed with. All of those moments should just happen to be on Netflix."
