A new series called Ramyug is streaming on MX player and we're trying to decipher what the janta thinks about this new Ramayana.
Over the years, we've had different adaptations of Ramayana retelling the same story in a different manner. It is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient Indian history, the other being the Mahābhārata. Director Kunal Kohli’s most-anticipated adaptation of Sanskrit epic Ramayana, Ramyug, is currently streaming on MX Player. The series includes an ensemble cast of Diganth Manchale, Akkshay Dogra, Aishwarya Ojha, Kabir Duhan Singh, Vivan Bhatena, Navdeep Pallapolu, Anish John Kokken, Shishir Mohan Sharma, Jatin Sial, Shweta Gulati, Suparna Marwah, Mamta Verma, Tisca Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Anup Soni, Vikram Singh Chauhan, Hemant Kumar Pandey, Arun Singh, Ravi Jhankal, Shaan Grover, Amit Madan Gaur, Teena Singh and Danish Akhtar in pivotal roles who bring this ancient tale to life.
Ramayana has been a crucial part of everyone’s childhood at some point and in one way or another we have all heard this story. This modernized version of Ramayana with a youth-oriented approach is director Kunal Kohli’s first OTT venture. It seems this eight-episode series stays true to its original story but a few add-ons are made to make this a Ramayana for the newer generation. The series begins with Sita’s abduction by Ravana and seems to end at Ayodhya seeing the light of day once again. It is a classic old tale of the victory of good over bad and the beauty and enigma of belief.
Take a look at how the janta is reacting to this new series.
After Watching 2 episode of #Ramyug in @MXPlayer that too in fast forward mode.... My reaction to makers & Director of this show 👇 pic.twitter.com/2iWBuER9e7

You cant differentiate between Ram and Ravan in #Ramyug. They both are aggressive and Prabhu Shri Ram and Mata Sita shouting unnecessarily makes it look so ugly. They didn't even know that MP Ram is known for calmness.

Many directors try to recreate ramayan but no one can match the level of Ramanand sagar's ramayan level even they ruin it.The example is #ramyug

When amateur actors are big fan of @iamsrk. @kunalkohli won't let us live inside, provided we choose to watch his new ott show Ramyug, and covid won't outside.

RIP acting schools. #Ramyug pic.twitter.com/4hbwo0i4wQ
Watched #Ramyug few episodes and its a DISASTER all the way. It’s terribly written, directed & performed . The guy who is playing Ram looks like Rahul Gandhi, also sports modern day hairstyle 😂😂 .. @kunalkohli what you have made sir ?

Kunal Kohli Ram Yug is similar to Ekta Kapoor Mahabharat. A Story without a soul. Casting is done so poorly that rarely any character fits in the Canva, Talking about VFX, It seems like it is done by some beginner which fails to impress you. Expected something better. 😐 #Ramyug

@kunalkohli #Ramyug Nice to watch, but why Ram called himself Shriram when he announced the war.

So this web series called #Ramyug almost looks like someone did a parody on our sacred epic.

- kings don't wear crowns, nobody does
- protagonists look like UPSC aspirants
- dude who plays lord Hanuman looks like a KGN slaughterhouse runner
wtf?
Leave Netflix , Amazon Prime or whatever you are watching right now , watch #Ramyug on Mxplayer , one of the best dramatic portrayals of Ramayana , succinct and captures the true spirit of Ramayana
