House of Gucci

House of Gucci starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video and here's why you cannot miss out on it!

Based on the novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, the film House of Gucci, has been making all the right noises ever since its release. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film stars Academy Award winner, Lady Gaga and Academy Award-nominated Adam Driver in the leading roles who have given a performance of a lifetime. It tells us about the dark story behind the splendor of the legendary fashion company, Gucci, and revolves around the assassination of Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), the heir of the Gucci, by his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), in 1995, following their marriage over fierce power disputes. After its super hit theatrical release, the film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video

Here's why you need to watch it!

A biopic worth watching

The film is based on Sara Gay Forden’s gripping book of the same name, which is inspired by the true story of the family behind the Italian fashion empire, Gucci. The film depicts the rise and fall of the Gucci empire, as well as how no one from the film is still a part of the brand. Along with the performances of its star-studded cast, the attention to detail with regards to the period in which the film is shot, added to the picturesque locales of Italy, Switzerland, and New York makes House of Gucci a very entertaining watch.

Its glitzy cast

This film, which is directed by Ridley Scott, stars Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in the lead, who are absolutely scene stealers in every frame. Apart from them, the Oscar winner Jared Leto, who is absolutely unrecognizable in his get-up, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino are outstanding in their respective roles.

A fashionista’s paradise

From impeccably tailored suits and embellished gowns to big jewels and even bigger hair, the film is full of looks that are every bit as over-the-top as the Gucci family's antics. Being dressed to kill takes on a new meaning in the hotly anticipated House of Gucci, which weaves a web of fashion, betrayal, and murder. Kudos to the stylists as the movie is a pleasure to watch fashion-wise. Moreover, the beautiful locations chosen for the movie have complimented all the amazing outfits.

Fantastic soundtrack

House Of Gucci transports you a few decades back in time, which is portrayed not just in the clothes worn by the actors, but also in the film's varied music. The classic tunes from the era are intermingled with the drama, which is fully in sync with the glamour and deceit the film embodies. While it doesn't include any tracks from Lady Gaga, the soundtrack does, however, feature songs from the likes of Donna Summer, George Michael, David Bowie, and Blondie.

Stunning Dialogues

This film is home to one of the most stunning dialogues. It is clearly seen how the dialogues have done justice to the film and how it changes the way we watch and perceive it. To give you a gist, here is one stated by the founder of the brand himself, “Gucci belongs in a museum, not a mall.” It not only gives you chills but also makes it more compelling for you to watch.

Hair and Makeup

The tremendous work done by the stylists was praise-worthy. The number of hours of hard work spent on detailing the looks of each actor also led up to an Oscar nomination.
