Directed by Meenakshi Sundareshwar fame Vivek Soni, Aap Jaisa Koi is a modern-day romance that deals with themes of preserving individuality and tackling patriarchy in relationships.

A romantic film, Aap Jaisa Koi explores the themes of cultural differences, patriarchy, and agency of women in a relationship and features Madhavan as Shrirenu Tripathi, a Sanskrit professor, and Shaikh as Madhu Bose, an independent woman with a strong voice who meet through an arranged set-up. As Shri and Madhu grow fond of each other, their relationship is confronted with complex questions of maintaining their individuality, re-examining long-held beliefs about masculinity, companionship, and emotional expression. The idea is to maintain a 'barabari wala pyaar (equality in love), and the trailer seems to be on the right track.
