Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari trailer sees Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s characters faking a relationship to win back their exes.
Dharma Productions on Monday released the trailer for its upcoming rom-com, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, (SSKTK) helmed by ‘Dulhania’ franchise fame Shashank Khaitan. The film follows Varun Dhawan’s Sunny teaming up with Janhvi Kapoor’s Tulsi to win back their exes. The film boasts of an impressive ensemble cast as the trailer opens on a quirky note with Sunny dressed as Baahubali to propose to his girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) who happens to be a big fan of the film. The proposal, however, gets rejected and we get to know that she is getting engaged to Vikram (Rohit Saraf), who happens to be Tulsi’s ex. Sunny and Tulsi, thus plot to win them back by faking a relationship together, but the situation gets complicated after they gradually grow fond of each other.
By the look of the trailer SSKTK looks like a signature Shashank Khaitan outing with vibrant characters, quirky dialogues and elaborate song and dance sequences. The highpoints of the trailer definitely have to be Sunny and Tulsi’s argument over who is more middle class and the outro where Sunny is reciting an absurd love shayari. Dhawan’s comic timing in the scenes is a stark reminder of how effortness he is in rom-coms, a genre that helped him make a name for himself. Besides, Malhotra and Saraf’s characters as the lead pair’s exes also look exciting, the kind that would make the rom-com engaging.
Overall, the trailer positions SSKTK as a full-fledged family entertainer, and a light-hearted watch that is expected to bring back the charm of quintessential Bollywood rom-coms.
