A multi-city initiative to empower Gen Z storytellers – starting in Hyderabad, Snapchat strengthens its commitment to India’s digital creators
Snapchat is doubling down on its commitment to India's growing creator community with the launch of Snapchat Creator Connect—a multi-city initiative aimed at empowering Gen Z and aspiring digital storytellers. The program will offer mentorship, growth opportunities, and engagement tools to help creators build sustainable careers on the platform while shaping the future of short-form content.
Snapchat has been expanding its creator-first approach in India through various programs and partnerships that encourage creativity, growth, and monetization. The company is teaming up with local creator agencies to support regional content creators and nurture new talent.
A key focus of Snapchat’s efforts is educating and mentoring creators. Programs like Snap School help up-and-coming creators refine their storytelling skills and use Snapchat’s tools to grow their audience. Another initiative, Savvy on Snap, offers consulting support and resources to help creators bring trending pop culture content to their Snapchat communities. Snapchat also provides global revenue-sharing and reward programs to help creators earn money while engaging with their followers, making it easier to build long-term careers on the platform.
Hyderabad: The first stop for creator connect
The initiative kicked off in Hyderabad, a city with a rich entertainment industry spanning movies, TV, arts, and digital media. Speaking about the program, Saket Jha Saurabh, Director of Content and AR Partnerships at Snap Inc., said:
“India is experiencing a major shift, with Gen Z taking the lead as both creators and consumers. Snapchat plays a key role in this change by supporting authentic, visual storytelling and helping creators stay connected with their communities. Creator Connect is one of the ways we will engage with the creators shaping pop culture, and we’re excited to meet them across the country.”
At the event, Snapchat welcomed leading creators, publishers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of digital storytelling. A special highlight was the Snapchat debut of Telugu film star Natural Star Nani, bridging the gap between mainstream cinema and Gen Z digital content.
Scaling nationwide!
Following a successful launch in Hyderabad, Chandigarh has been announced as the next city to host Creator Connect. With over 200 million monthly active users in India, Snapchat remains dedicated to supporting regional creators and fostering a diverse digital storytelling culture.
As Creator Connect expands across the country, Snapchat continues to focus on authenticity, creativity, and Gen Z’s vision for the future of content—giving every creator the opportunity to share their stories, grow their audience, and build successful digital careers.
