5 Years! I still can’t believe it’s been five years since a lockdown idea became a reality!

Social Ketchup began as a daily publication in 2017, covering creators, pop culture, memes, and everything buzzing on the internet. But it was in 2020, when the world had hit pause, that we decided to take the next step and launch Social Ketchup Magazine. That was the year audiences and brands truly understood the power of the creator economy, and as cheerleaders for creators, we knew that a magazine which becomes the home for content creators, unravels their stories and delves deep into the creator economy, was exactly what was needed. Our idea was simple: create a space where creators are celebrated in all their glitz, glam, and glorious chaos!

Looking back, it’s been an incredible journey. Over 45 editions, we have featured over 60 creators on the cover from almost every genre, shared stories of thousands of creators, learned from their journeys, stirred uncomfortable but necessary conversations through our stories, and navigated countless challenges along the way. From unexpected crises during shoots to experimenting with fashion, lighting, props, and locations… from long-hour shoots to dancing, singing, and playing around on the set… from writing features to last-minute edits… from brainstorming ideas to finally bringing each edition alive across platforms, it has been an exhilarating, messy, and humbling experience.

What has made this journey truly special is you, our readers and social media audience. Every like, comment, share, and message, whether online or offline, has been a reminder that we’re building something together. Your support has been the fuel that keeps us going, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

These five years have also taught us that creativity thrives in community. It’s not just about the stories we tell, but about the people behind them, the creators who dare to dream, experiment, and share their voices with the world. The passion, resilience, and authenticity we’ve witnessed have been nothing short of inspiring. It’s this spirit that continues to shape Social Ketchup and pushes us to explore new ways to celebrate creativity.

As we look ahead, we are more excited than ever. We aim to continually evolve, bring in fresh perspectives, spotlight underrepresented voices, and foster spaces where creativity and collaboration can thrive, and, most importantly, celebrate the creator economy. Social Ketchup will continue to be a space where ideas are shared, stories are celebrated, and the culture of creativity continues to expand. Always a home for content creators!

This is just Chapter 1 of Social Ketchup. From here, the story will only grow stronger, saucier, and spicier! We are ready to embrace new challenges, new voices, and new ways to connect and create. Here’s to many more stories, collaborations, and celebrations.
