Another week, another round of internet chatter that no one could scroll past.

The internet had plenty to keep people talking this week, with conversations and jokes quickly turning into the highlights of everyone’s feed. From casual chatter to moments that took over timelines, it was all anyone could scroll past.

Mrunal Thakur faces backlash over resurfaced old video

Every now and then, the internet digs up an old clip that suddenly takes on a life of its own. This time, it was a throwback from Mrunal Thakur’s early television days on Kumkum Bhagya. In the resurfaced video, a 19-year-old Mrunal is seen in an interview with co-star Arjit Taneja where the two discuss fitness. When Arjit mentioned his preference for a partner with a toned body, Mrunal quipped, “Do you want to marry a girl who is manly with muscles? Go marry Bipasha. Listen, I am far better than Bipasha, okay?”

What may have seemed like playful banter back then hasn’t aged well. The clip went viral in August 2025, and many online users criticized Mrunal for disrespecting and body-shaming Bipasha Basu.

Responding to the backlash, Mrunal posted a note on Instagram Stories. She reflected on her younger self and admitted her choice of words was careless: “At 19, I said many silly things without realizing the weight of my words. My intent was never to body-shame anyone, but I understand now how it came across, and I’m deeply sorry. It was banter that went too far, and I truly wish I had chosen my words differently.”

She went on to share how much her perspective has shifted over the years: “With time, I’ve grown to understand and appreciate that beauty comes in every form, and that’s something I genuinely value now.”

Internet weighs in on Apoorva Mukhija–Utsav Dahiya controversy

Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, found herself at the center of controversy after her ex-boyfriend, Utsav Dahiya, released a song titled “Cute Little Red Flag” on Instagram on August 17. Online, reactions have been sharply divided. While many praised Utsav’s song, others criticized Apoorva, with some accusing her of manipulative behavior, while a section of her supporters defended her, pointing out the misogyny often directed at women in such disputes.

Now, the internet has turned the controversy into a full-blown spectacle. Every detail is being dissected and analyzed, with users drawing their own conclusions about who is in the wrong.

Memes and Trends:

Revisiting school’s fancy dress competitions

Back in school, fancy dress competitions were all about creativity, but looking back, some of those outfit choices feel a little questionable. Social media has now turned that nostalgia into a trend, with people sharing their funniest and most unforgettable looks from those days.

Who are you trying to impress

Sometimes the reason we keep pushing in life is because we want to feel proud of who we’ve become. A trend on Instagram is capturing this in the simplest way. It begins by asking who you are really trying to impress, and the reveal is that it has always been your younger self.

You’re a 10 when

Most of us have felt how love and admiration can sometimes feel conditional, offered only when we comply with someone else’s rules and standards. The moment we start taking a stand for ourselves, that affection begins to fade. A beautiful trend on social media is reflecting on this very feeling.
