Spencer

Spencer starring Kristen Stewart and helmed by Pablo Larrain is all about when Lady Di decides to break it off from the family and get a divorce.

Princess Diana or Lady Di was a charming, magnetic, and kind human being but with an unfortunate and tragic tale. In a very short span of time, she impacted a lot of people so much so that in spite of her early death she lives on through stories. Now she's been a storyteller's favorite as we have seen many documentaries, movies, and series being made on her life, the most famous and recent one being Netflix's series, The Crown. But Spencer is not a film that talks about her entire life. Rather it's just about the part where she took the most important decision of her life i.e to part ways with the Royal House.

Spencer is made by the infamous filmmaker Pablo Larrain who also helmed Natalie Portman's starter, Jackie, and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. It focuses on the very important decision that Princess Diana had to make in order to live in peace. It's based during the Christmas holidays with the royal family at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England when Diana decides to leave the marriage. The trailer seems quite magnificent and chilling, and Kristen Stewart's portrayal of the Lady looks remarkable. While there is no doubt that the world who is obsessed with the show will not compare Emma Corrin's Lady Di in Crown to Kristen Stewart's in Spencer irrespective of the fact that both represent different chapters in the same person's life.

The film is already doing rounds in film festivals all over the world and is receiving high praise. It received a 3-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival and will open in domestic theatres on November 5th. Though its release date for India is still not clear. The film also stars Jack Farthing, Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, Sean Harris, Olga Hellsing, and Thomas Douglas in pivotal roles.

We can't wait for this film to hit our theatres real soon, what about you? Do tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
