A timeless icon, Sridevi captivated and mesmerized audiences for decades, and generations of people were left shaken and horrified by the reports of her death. At just 54 years of age, Sridevi who had no history of heart ailments suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at a Dubai hotel. Although latest news reports suggest she passed away due to accidental drowning.

In Dubai to attend her nephew, Mohit Marwah’s wedding, Sridevi was staying at the Emirates Tower Hotel.
Preparing for a dinner date with husband Boney Kapoor, who flew in from India, Sridevi suffered a fatal cardiac arrest in the bathroom where she was later found lying in the bathtub by him.
Boney had earlier attended the wedding on Wednesday with Sridevi, later flying back to India and arriving in Dubai on Saturday to surprise her.
Tt was a deeply disturbing incident that could not be avoided. After police and paramedics rushed to the spot, she was sadly declared dead as reports of her death began to circulate.
Autopsy reports have confirmed that a heart attack was the cause of her death, and other official formalities are being completed in the Middle Eastern country.
Due to the post-mortem reports being inconclusive, a toxicology report was demanded by the Dubai forensics team.
The ANI Twitter account has tweeted a picture of what looks like an autopsy report which mentions the cause of death to be ‘Accidental Drowning’ and that traces of alcohol were found in Sridevi’s body.
The report does not appear to be authentic as the word ‘Drowning has been misspelt.
ANI also goes on to report that Sridevi, who was under the influence of alcohol, accidentally fell into the bathtub and drowned.
It is a major new update, although it has not been verified by an authentic autopsy report or by the family.
Bollywood stars have been spotted visiting Anil Kapoor, Sridevi’s brother-in-law and co-star in many films, to offer their condolences and pay their respects to the deceased superstar.
