Priya Prakash Varrier or the ‘wink girl’ as we recall her has set social media buzzing again. Her debut Bollywood movie “Sridevi Bungalow” trailer has upset Twitter and even faced the wrath of Boney Kapoor.
“Sridevi Bungalow” trailer was launched on youtube on January 13 and has caught the attention of Indians as it hints that it is based on Sridevi’s life. The trailer captures the story of an actress named Sridevi’s life. It further shows the actress roaming alone on the streets looking depressed and the trailer ends with a shot of the actress lying in the bathtub with her legs in the air.
India was taken aback with the sudden demise of the legendary actress Sridevi last year in Dubai. The reason for her unfateful passing away was accidental drowning in the bathtub. Hence the trailer has received widespread disapproval due to an uncanny resemblance to name, profession, bathtub and drowning scene.

The filmmaker has slapped a legal notice for movie having a direct indication to the late actress Sridevi by her husband Boney Kapoor.
Commenting on this director Prasanth Mambully told a media portal, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it.”
Fans of Sridevi are not impressed with this mockery of the actress and have left resentful comments on the trailer on Youtube
They have also taken up on social media to express their disappointment :
