Shubhash Ghai’s short-film Gandhi – A Perspective shows a side less spoken about. Check out the review here…

“Do you know why you don’t like Gandhi? Because you don’t know Gandhi!” The short-film, Gandhi- A Perspective is Director Shubhash Ghai‘s way of trying to find answers to all the questions raised against the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhiji. The movie stars, Manoj Bajpayee as an ardent Mahatma fan and follower who tries his hand at making his nephew, who has a number of questions against Gandhi, understand him and his ideology.

While trying to clear all the doubts that the teen has against the leader, Shubhash Ghai highlights the various allegations made against freedom fighter. According to the makers, this short film is first of its kind that tries to look at and admire the great leader while answering misconceptions. It has tried to see Mahatma through a youth’s eye and the thoughts that the youth have about him.

While the treatment of the short film is kept basic, Manoj Bajpayee has, as usual, delivered the character with finesse and depth. Shubhash Ghai dawned the director’s cap after a break and this will be a great opportunity for his fans.

The film is censored and will be premiered on DD NATIONAL on Gandhiji’s death anniversary 30th January at 3 pm and 10 pm.
