Niccolo Campriani and Abhinav Bindra release documentary of their dream project- Taking Refuge: Target Tokyo 2020 on Olympic Channel.

Olympic Channel has launched Taking Refuge, a docu-series featuring three refugees training hard to qualify for the forthcoming Olympics. The series premiered on June 15, 2020, and has five episodes as of now. Due to the global pandemic, the sixth episode of the series is postponed until next year, due to the postponement of the games.

The documentary features three-time Olympic gold medallist Niccolo Campriani as he trains three refugees in their brave journey to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in the 10-meter air rifle event.

As covered by the Olympic Channel, “The responsibility of an athlete and of an Olympic champion goes beyond the last shot or the last jump or the last meter of his or her career. I’m very grateful to have met Khaoula, Mahdi and Luna and to do this journey with them,” said Niccolo Campriani

War survivors Mahdi, Khaoula and Luna set an aim to reach the Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) in order to become eligible for the Tokyo Olympic Games under the coaching of Niccolo.
