The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily has raised the stakes in the MCU and shows events that could lead up to the Kang Dynasty!
Marvel Studios released the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer and it shows the challenges Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and The Wasp (Evangeline Lily) are going to face in the Quantum realm. This starts when Ant-Man’s daughter Cassie (Katheryn Newton) accidentally contacts the villain by creating a Quantum Beacon. So now Ant-Man has to use his expertise to save his daughter and as we see in the trailer he is doing everything in his power to fight Kang.
Kang the conqueror also lures Scott Lang into the Quantum realm with the promise of recovering lost time with his daughter. He had been absent during the blip and that made him miss out on a lot of important memories from her life so despite his friends’ warnings, Scott continues to do whatever Kang says. But Cassie is no longer the little girl we saw in the previous films. She is now a young adult who is also seen in a superhero suit just like her father. And is probably ready to fight the enemies just like he does. Phase 4 of the MCU has been all about the younger generation taking over the legacy so Cassie will be seen as the young Avengers heroine, Stature.
Besides that, Kang is not the only villain of Quantumania, which also brings MODOK to the MCU. Also known as Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, the villain is the technologically-enhanced leader of the A.I.M. enterprise, with a brain so big that he turned into a giant head with tiny limbs.
This film will also mark as a starting point to Phase 5 of the MCU and we’ll eventually see the second biggest crossover in the MCU after Endgame, The Kang Dynasty. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania looks grander in terms of production compared to the previous two films. Directed by Peyton Reed, the movie also features Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne. The film is set to release on February 17, 2023.
