O'Romeo trailer: Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri star in Vishal Bhardwaj’s anti-hero action drama!

Set to release this Valentine’s weekend, O'Romeo is inspired by true events and highlights the underbelly of Mumbai.

O'Romeo trailer: Continuing his action and anti-hero era, Shahid Kapoor stars in yet another intense role in O'Romeo. He plays a gangster named Ustara in a post-independent Mumbai, where the inner workings of the underworld are at play. Inspired by true events, the movie has Triptii Dimri as his love interest, Afsha. A buffed-up Avinash Tiwary as Jalal plays the villain, and the rest of the ensemble cast includes Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Tamannah Bhatia and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. Vikrant Massey is set to appear for a special cameo in the film. The trailer shows Ustara and Afsha in intense back-and-forth, with romantic sequences as well. There's a plethora of guns ablazing, dance numbers, and dialogues amidst intense action. Reminding us of recently popular films like Animal and Dhurandhar- a genre that seems to be working at the box office lately, and O'Romeo appears to be on similar lines as well.

O’Romeo at its core, is about the chemistry between Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri. They have  a relationship expressed through silences, restrained emotions, and unspoken longing. Their bond brings vulnerability and depth to this gritty tale of love and survival. The film is said to be based on Hussain Ustara, a gangster who went up against Dawood Ibrahim back in the day.  The film also marks a  powerful collaboration between Vishal Bhardwaj with Arijit Singh and Gulzar Sahab, promising music that resonates with the film’s intense and poetic tone. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O'Romeo is set to release on the big screen on February 13.
