New Update
The Traitors

20 participants that include some of the most popular faces on the internet and the best host in town aka Karan Johar, come together for the ultimate game of betrayal and drama in The Traitors.

What if every reality star who has kept you hooked to your screens and every influencer who has made you doom scroll their entire page came together for a game of betrayal? Such is the premise of Prime Video’s latest reality show ‘The Traitors’. The game show is popular in many foreign countries and is finally making its mark in India as well. So it goes without saying that everyone’s favourite host and the king of drama aka Karan Johar had to take the lead on this one! From the trailer, it looks like all 20 participants are growing anxious by the minute to find out who the traitors are amongst them. With one participant getting virtually murdered by the traitors every night, the need to keep yourself safe makes the players argue with each other and trust absolutely no one around them. There’s heated discussions, tasks, a confession room like setting and tons of planning and plotting all while the cameras are constantly rolling!

The participants include Rebel Kid aka Apoorva Mukhija, Sufi Motiwala, Uorfi Javed, Anshula Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Jasmine Bhasin, Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Nourozi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Janvi Gaur, Lakshmi Manchu, Mukesh Chabbra, Nikita Luther, Purav Jha, Raftaar, Sahil Salathia and Sudhanshu Panday. The show is set in Rajasthan’s Suryagarh palace where the participants will stay till they find a winner. From the first look of it, The Traitors looks like a guilty pleasure that we’re all going to be watching every week, just for the fights and drama!

Shedding light on the same, Karan Johar added, “Characterized by lies, deceit, betrayal, and a whole lot of drama, The Traitors is a show to watch out for! You will see me enjoy myself to the hilt, as I not only orchestrate the gameplay but also get a front-row seat to all the chaos, conflicts, and conspiracies that transpire between the 20 players. The drama gets way too real, and the stakes even more so. While the players enter the palace ready to outsmart, outplay, and outlast everyone else, all their strategies go out the window the moment I choose the traitors from amongst them. So, rise and shine, cause it’s Dhokha Time! Starting June 12, the audience are in for a treat, with twists they won’t see coming, lies that feel real, on-the-edge moments that’ll make them gasp, and just when they think they’ve figured it out, the game flips on its head.”

“At Prime Video, we remain committed to innovation in our storytelling and in particular with our unscripted content slate,” said Nikhil Madhok, head of Originals, Prime Video, India. “With The Traitors, we’re diving headfirst into a format unlike anything India has seen before, and the trailer is just a glimpse into the edgy, gripping, and wildly unpredictable show that redefines what reality content can be. It is the ultimate test of trust and betrayal, where the players are under a constant cloud of betrayal with their minds as their only aid. The Indian adaptation adds its own texture to the globally celebrated format while retaining the core elements that have made the show a worldwide phenomenon. We are proud to collaborate with All3Media International and BBC Studios India Productions to bring this exciting new series to our discerning audiences in India.”

The Traitors will be streaming on Prime Video June 12 onwards!
