A member of SWM - Solid Waste Management Round Table, Bengaluru, Vani believes that garbage is green gold. She calls herself the 'Worm rani' and has inspired many to take up home composting and terrace farming to grow healthy vegetables for their everyday needs.

The simple desire to reduce her home waste encouraged her to take up composting and to make use of her terrace space for good. Vani has been working towards helping people take up more eco-friendly options in life. She sees her rooftop garden as an urban way to come closer to nature. Her terrace is now home to a variety of vegetables ranging from beans, okra, eggplant, radish, tomatoes, and different herbs etc.
