Vicky Kaushal

We’ll never get tired of watching Vicky Kaushal on-screen because he is one actor who always aces his roles and here’s looking into how he has set the benchmark for versatility!

Vicky Kaushal has known the world of cinemas ever since he was a young adult because of his father Shyam Kaushal, who was a stunt director. But that was never going to be a hall pass for him to get into Bollywood easily. He was still considered an outsider in many ways and worked really hard to prove himself and work his way up in the industry. A film he did in 2015, Masaan, which was produced by Anurag Kashyap and Vikram Adityamotwane is what truly garnered him the love of the audience and critical acclaim as well. Since then he has only given impactful performances one after the other which made all of us not only fall in love with him as an actor but also his humble personality. The more fierce and unforgettable he was on-screen, the more charming he was off-screen. After being in the industry for nine years, from patriotic movies, comedy movies to slice of life films, he has done it all.

In 2018, he got featured in Forbes 30 under 30 in such a short period of time and today he is also one of the highest paid actors in the industry. His film Uri had the whole nation chanting "How’s the josh?" and that will always be one of his memorable dialogues. Among the current trend of boycotting Bollywood actors, he has managed to be one of those who the Janta loves and adores.

Today we talk about movies that bear testimony to his phenomenal acting skills, and make him the star that we know today!

Masaan - Disney+ Hotstar

Masaan was a beautiful story with several parallel storylines simultaneously. Vicky as Deepak brought so much innocence and purity to the character that it still remains as one of his classics.

Uri: The Surgical Strike - ZEE5

One of his most commercially successful films till date, Uri gained him mainstream recognition like no other and his character Major Vihaan became the face of chest thumping patriotism.

Raazi - Prime Video

Iqbal was so charming and well played by Vicky that we all would probably be open to the idea of an arranged marriage like his and Sehmat’s. He was truly a man written by a woman and he played that so seamlessly.

Manmarziyan - Prime Video

From playing charming roles, he went the complete opposite way and played DJ Sandhu in Manmarziyan. He was a failed DJ, a spoiled brat and an absolute turn off for women but he played that with such conviction too.

Sardar Udham - Prime Video

This is one of his most underrated films. If you are one of those who did watch this one, you’d know the way he carries this film on his shoulder. Sardar Udham is a biopic on an Indian revolutionary Udham Singh who took revenge on Michael O’Dwyer, Punjab’s lieutenant governor, by assassinating him after he killed hundreds of people in Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and Vicky was simply phenomenal when he played him.

Sanju - Netflix

Vicket Kaushal had less screen time in Sanju but he gave an impactful performance. While the movie was about Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor playing his character, Vicky Kaushal as Kamli totally stole the show. Being a rising new actor himself, he didn’t shy away from playing a supporting role and that’s the mark of someone who truly loves his craft.

Lust Stories - Netflix

Lust Stories was a short film that gained attention for many reasons and stirred important conversations around female pleasure. While many actors turned away from the role, Vicky was the one who stepped up and took on the role of a man who is naive and is unable to please his wife sexually but is open to conversation and learning eventually.

Raman Raghav 2.0 - ZEE5

Anurag Kashyap’s psychological thriller is based on the real life of serial killer Raman who convinces Raghav, who is investigating his case about how similar they are. Vicky plays the druggie cop in all his glory and garnered a lot of acclaim for the role.

Happiest Birthday to the incredible actor! We cannot wait to see what his upcoming movie Zara Hatke Zara Bachke has in store for us!
