In one of our chats with Indian Magician and Illusionist Vivek Desai, we got to know about everything that inspires him to better his tricks and more.

Magic is one thing that never fails to amuse everybody irrespective of their age. Every time a magician plays his tricks, he manages to win the audience's heart and leave them in utter shock. There are a number of such magicians who play mind games and some who are great at cards. Vivek Desai is one such Indian magician who has aced his card tricks. It is always intimidating to see him pull off a card trick making people wonder how he did it.

Vivek Desai is one illusionist who has been able to sweep many celebrities of their feet with his incredible magic. His magic is dope and amazing as he spends a lot of time perfecting them and making them interesting for people to notice. Recently we got into a quick chat with the magician himself where he spoke to us about his career and more.

Check out what Vivek Desai had to share with us:

  1. What made you start creating content? And when did you start creating content?

"As a kid, I was influenced by the specials of David Blaine and other street magicians that would come on TV which is what I believe has led me to go down this career path of a magician/illusionist. I started practising from the age of 11 and went on to performing professionally by the time I was 18. I shot my first celebrity interaction video at the age of 20."

  1. What makes your content stand out?

"I work on bringing a contemporary twist to existing tricks and create an overall gripping experience for my audience."

  1. How do you choose what to promote on your feed and what not to?

"I usually run my major content pieces by my management team; Shark & Ink as well as a few close friends. Based on their collective feedback, I decide what should be promoted, though I always retain the option to veto their opinion."

  1. One instance/experience that made it all worthwhile?

"I’ve performed for a number of notable personalities including Alan Walker, Jacqueline Fernandez, Radhika Apte and many more but an experience that really stood out was getting the opportunity to perform at my first charity show for orphaned children and just enjoying their reactions to all the tricks."

  1. What does a regular day look like?

"On days when I’m not doing shows or events, I really enjoy playing video games and exploring different types of food. I also try to get in practice and experiment with new tricks whenever possible."

  1. How do you make moolahs?

"Gigs and ad revenue generated from my online videos."

  1. Where do you get ideas for your videos from?

"As I mentioned earlier, I got into this field because of legends like Blaine, Dynamo etc. Till this date, they serve as inspiration for new tricks."

8. Weirdest brief ever received?

"Don’t maintain eye contact with the chief guest (during a college show I’d once done)"

  1. If not a Magician/Illusionist, what would you be?

"I think I would like to have been a writer if I wasn’t doing this."

  1. Message/tips for upcoming Magicians

"Keep practising and don’t be overly scared of getting caught or messing up when you’re starting out."
