Ever since his solo world tour kickstarted in February, J-Hope has been on a roll with releasing new songs and surprising fans at his concert. Here’s how it’s going down in the BTS Army world right now!
J-Hope completed his military service 5 months ago and has been working on his solo activities right from the next day. Ever since his discharge, there had been rumours about him doing a solo world tour and as we expected, that’s the first thing he announced at the start of this year. ‘Hope on the Stage’ as his world tour is called is not only the perfect end to chapter two but also acts as Yin and Yang with Suga solo world tour ‘D-Day’ which took place last year. While D-Day was about letting go of your past self and a lot of the stage was dismantled by the end of every act, Hope on the Stage is about finding hope within you and loving yourself.
Hence we see the stages being built back in a larger than life way. J-Hope kickstarted his solo tour at the end of February and amidst that he has also released two new singles. The first one was ‘Sweet Dreams’ featuring Miguel. The song is a pop R&B track which not only describes an intimate night with a loved one but also talks about how he wants to love that person the right way, the way she deserved to be treated. The song instantly clicked with fans and we also saw many other K-pop idols doing the dance challenge for this song on their Tik Tok along with J-Hope himself.
But just when we were playing Sweet Dreams on loop, J-Hope surprised his fans with another single called ‘Mona Lisa’ last week. The song is currently trending on social media with fans re-creating the choreography or making their own versions of it. Mona Lisa is J-Hope describing his ideal type and in a way complimenting all his female fans for being their beautiful, independent self everyday! Hence the song has seemed to have resonated with Armys around the world. He performed his song a few days back for the first time at his Brooklyn concert and fans went completely berserk when they saw the choreography for it.
There’s no doubt that J-Hope has incredible stage presence and is the dance leader for BTS for a reason but ever since his world tour began we’ve just seen a completely new side of him. After every concert there are new videos that become viral on social media. Sometimes it’s his performances or sometimes it’s the fact that quite a lot of lucky fans have gotten to meet him personally after the show.
