ONEWE

ONEWE brings Korean rock energy to India with a promise to connect through music, culture and memories with their fans!

Rising from the indie-roots of 2015 under the name ONEWE (원위), this five-member South Korean band comprises of Yonghoon, Harin, Kanghyun, Dongmyeong and Giuk. They have steadily redefined the edges of K-pop by weaving rock, ballad, jazz and pop seamlessly and making a niche for themselves. Now, as they embark on a journey to India for the first time, it feels like a pivotal cross-cultural moment for them. From their creative process where each piece is often written independently yet crafted collectively, to shared energy and new memories on stage, ONEWE are opening a new chapter not just for themselves but for their Indian WEVEs too!

At a time where K-pop has taken over so many playlists in India, it has opened doors to a plethora of Korean artists to look at India as a growing market for them as well. ONEWE, in their candid conversation with us, talk about everything from Bollywood to why they feel Gen Z’s here resonate with their music immensely and what fans can take away from their performance this November!

Here’s what they had to say!

While you majorly compose rock music, you have also tapped into other genres like pop, ballad and jazz. Would Indian music and collaborating with Indian artists also be something you’d love to try out in the future?

Yonghoon: “I’ve always wanted to visit India, and if we get the opportunity to explore different genres, I’d love to experience the passion of our Indian fans through the country’s culture and music.”

As a group of five members, how do y’all find a middle ground while composing music and incorporate each one of your opinions?

Giuk : “Firstly, when composing a song, we try to respect and adjust to the opinions of the member who wrote it! It’s rare for all five of us to write a song together; usually, each member writes separately.”

What do you think about your growing fanbase in India and why do you think so many Gen Z’s here are resonating with your music?

Dongmyeong: “It’s really amazing and touching to see more and more people in India listening to our music. I think Gen Z is a generation that resonates with sincerity, and our music carries that same genuine feeling. We sing about emotions, worries, and dreams that anyone can relate to, so perhaps that’s why it connects beyond language or distance.”

How does it feel to tap into new markets like India, where Korean culture has become rather prominent and become a part of so many households?

Yonghoon:“I’m so happy that K-pop is loved in India, and if even one more person listens to and enjoys ONEWE’s music, we’ll be truly happy.”

Kanghyun: It feels really special that Korean culture has found a place in the lives of so many people, even in a distant country like India. It’s touching that people there connect not only with K-pop but also with the emotions and stories within it, and we ONEWE are so excited to be part of that and meet our Indian fans for the first time.”

What are you looking forward to the most during your trip to India?

Harin:“When I think of India, I think of curry, I really want to try it! And we hope that our Indian WEVEs enjoy themselves, having fun and getting excited during our performance!”

Dongmyeong: “Above all, I’m most excited to meet Indian fans in person! I’ve heard so much about India’s culture, food, and their passionate energy. Just the thought of experiencing that warm atmosphere and energy live on stage already makes me thrilled. This performance will surely be an unforgettable memory for us too!”

K-pop and Bollywood are both famous for their choreography. If you had to dance on a Bollywood track, which member do you think would be really good at it?

Giuk:“I think our frontman Yonghoon will be the best at dancing. He’s a hidden dancer.”

If you had to pick one song which you feel best represents ONEWE to an Indian listener, which would it be, and why?

Yonghoon:“I think ONEWE’s strength is our energy on stage. With the song ‘Traffic Love,’ I want to feel it together with our Indian fans, jumping and sharing emotions with each other!”

Kanghyun: “I would choose ‘Regulus’. You’ll be able to feel ONEWE’s unique cosmic storytelling and emotions.”

Harin:“I think the song that best represents ONEWE as a team is ‘Maze’. It brings together the strengths of each member in one place.”

Dongmyeong: “I would also choose ‘Regulus.’ I think it best shows ONEWE’s musical color and emotions. The message of being able to shine even in the dark is something anyone around the world can relate to.”

Giuk: “I’d pick ‘A Piece of You.’ It’s a confident song that shows ONEWE’s energy and tension.”

What is something you hope Indian fans walk away with after your show this November? Is there a message you’d like to share with them?

Yonghoon: “I hope that our Indian fans, meeting us for the first time, will make unforgettable memories with ONEWE in their lives!”

Kanghyun: “First of all, we’re so excited to be going to India. I hope the WEVEs who watch our stage leave with hearts full of excitement and joy.”

Harin: “After seeing our performance, I hope fans think, “I want to have fun with ONEWE again,” or “I want to enjoy ONEWE’s music,” and maybe even come visit Korea. I hope we can all have a fun time together!”

Dongmyeong:“I hope that after the performance, fans leave feeling, “We shared a really special time together.” We want to comfort and give strength through our music. We sincerely thank Indian fans supporting us from afar, and hope we can create beautiful memories together during this performance.”

Giuk: I hope ONEWE stays deep in your minds and keeps coming to your thoughts. We hope you’ll call us again and come to our concerts in Korea as well! Thank you!”

You can catch ONEWE’s performance at the K-Town Festival on November 1, 2025!
