Starring Lee Jung-Jae and Lee Byung Hun, Squid Game season 3 is set to release on Netflix on June 27 and the trailer seems no less than a nail-biter!
4 years ago, the first season of Squid Game premiered on Netflix and left the world hooked to it because of its bizarre premise. More than 300 people drowning in debt are lured into a secluded world of Squid Game where they get their one chance at life to turn things around. But the twist here is that instead of simply getting eliminated, it costs them their life. In the first season, we saw Player 456 aka Gi-Hun somehow win his way out of this fatal game. In season 2, he steps back into the game to warn others and make them stop. And now in the last and final season, we see him deal with the aftermath of it all.
A plethora of things are shown to us in this two minute trailer. We see Gi-Hun scream in pain after his friend was killed last season. The Frontman is back to his spot after scamming all the players all of season 2. Yim Si-Wan aka Myung-Gi wants to stop and get out of the game along with Dae-Ho. But the most intriguing of all, we see a glimpse of T.O.P. making a comeback in the game, even though he was dead last season. Is it a flashback or is he back for real is something to look forward to given that his character gained so much popularity last year. There’s tension in the air and the players are very clearly divided in two teams - the ones who want to continue playing and the ones who don’t and hence there’s a battle for survival.
While Hwang Jun-Ho was missing from the trailer, the rest of the scenes do feel like we could finally see him closing in on the location of where all of this takes place and the makers of this infamous game finally getting what they deserve. That sure would be something the entire fandom would love watching! But only time will tell if season 3 will turn out to be what we think it is or will the psychopaths who look at this game as entertainment get away with it once again, proving that this is indeed a rich man’s world!
