This week’s trends had us laughing, stirred cultural conversations, and gave us plenty to scroll through. Catch up on all the scoop here.
There’s something fascinating about the internet's ability to take the most ordinary moments and turn them into shared experiences that feel larger than life. In just a few seconds, a soundbite, a gesture, or a perfectly timed edit can bring people together across timelines, cultures, and moods. That’s exactly the thought we had while looking back at some of the most talked-about conversations and viral moments on the internet this week.
Here's what you should know, too:
Banksying
Just when we thought we’d heard it all when it comes to toxic dating trends and their painfully relatable names, “Banksying” is a new term that the internet has added to our vocab list. This term is being used to describe a sneaky and selfish way of breaking up with someone where one person decides to end the relationship without giving the other person any warning or real explanation, just so they can avoid feeling guilty or emotionally uncomfortable themselves. Across social media platforms, people are sharing their own experiences, realising that what they went through wasn’t just a "bad breakup" or someone being "emotionally unavailable." It was “Banksying”, and now, finally, there’s a name for it.
In a time where everyone is being told to prioritise their peace and put themselves first, 0it seems like some people have started taking it a little too far by shutting others out completely, not thinking about how their actions might hurt the person and turning self-care into something more like emotional avoidance.
Aura farming
If you’re wondering why everyone online is suddenly obsessed with the term Aura Farming, it all traces back to 11-year-old Rayyan Arkan Dikha from a village in Indonesia. A video of him dancing effortlessly at the tip of a boat went viral. Rayyan was performing as the Togak Luan during his debut at the national Pacu Jalur boat race. His role is to lead the boat with rhythm and grace, setting the tone for the rowers behind him. What began as a cultural performance has quickly become one of the internet’s most talked-about moments right now.
Now, everyone wants to be an aura farmer. Creators across platforms are jumping in to recreate Rayyan’s smooth steps in their own style, trying to channel that same effortless, main-character energy.

Memes and Trends
Pehla tu duja tu
Ajay Devgn has always been known for his famously ironic dance moves and now, he’s unintentionally gifted the internet with yet another viral conversation around it. In his latest song "Pehla Tu Duja Tu," he pulls off a hilariously low-effort dance step using just his hands, and for whatever reason, the internet is completely obsessed. Creators across platforms are jumping on the trend and recreating the step in their own quirky ways.
The Bugatti trend
Ace Hood’s 2013 song Bugatti is suddenly popular again, and it’s all because of a funny new trend on social media. The part of the song where it says, “I woke up in a new Bugatti,” is being used in videos that show people pretending to drive luxury cars but in the most creative and silly way possible.
In these videos, someone sits on the floor like they’re behind the wheel of a car, and just as the line plays, another person pulls their legs so they slide out of the frame, making it look like they’re speeding off in a fancy car.
Imma be
A good trend can make content out of the most mundane days, and the way people are sharing their everyday routines with sleek transitions and clean editing to the song "Imma Be."
Illegal
If you’ve spent any time scrolling through Reels lately, chances are you’ve come across people dramatically shaking hands to the song “Illegal” by PinkPantheress. While the artist has explained that the song is actually about buying illegal drugs or hiring a male escort, Instagram users have taken it in a completely different direction as they are using the sound to highlight the chaotic, confusing, and often hilarious parts of their relationships or at least, as dramatic as things can get in a few seconds of screen time.
