With familiar faces and some brand new exciting additions to the cast, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally under production!
Gird your loins! The much awaited sequel to the Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway-starrer The Devil Wears Prada has officially begun filming as confirmed by Disney’s 20th Century Studios’ and after several weeks of media reports, speculations and cast members being gradually revealed, we finally know the full star cast of the film!
Runway’s dreaded editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep) is all to put Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet’s fashion knowledge to test as the actors join the iconic star cast of the film. Other newcomers to the roster include Helen J. Shen,Conrad Ricamora, along with comedian Caleb Hearon.
Besides the new joinees, Tracie Thoms, who essayed Hathaway’s character’s BFF Lily, and Tibor Feldman, who played Irv Ravitz, the supremo of the magazine’s parent company, will reprise their roles in the second edition of the film. The actors will appear alongside the original film’s stars, Meryl Streep, Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci.
David Frankel, who helmed the 2006 original film, and Aline Brosh McKenna, who penned the screenplay, will also be returning to the sequel. The original film was based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel about an aspiring journalist Andy Sachs' (Hathaway) nightmarish experience working at a prestigious fashion magazine courtesy of her demanding boss (Streep). The film was a commercial success, grossing $326 million worldwide and an Oscar nomination for Streep.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to release in cinemas on May 1, 2026.
