Virat Kohli announced his retirement from test cricket yesterday drawing curtains on a magnificent 14-year career marked by unparalleled records, historic wins, and most importantly, his famous intensity. From his debut in the Caribbean to his final stand, he amassed 9230 runs, hitting 30 centuries that include several match-winning knocks and memorable fightbacks. But, Kohli’s legacy transcends numbers. Be it his passion, never-say-die attitude, or sticking up for his players unapologetically, every action of the former Indian captain testified his intention of conquering it all, at all costs.

Kohli’s aggression and command were not only visible in the powerful strokes he played while batting but also while taking on the field in any capacity. He led the team in 68 Tests, becoming the country’s most successful captain in the format with 40 wins in 68 matches, before stepping down from the role in 2022. Kohli's Test journey was also about injecting a fearless, winning mentality into the team, leaving behind a legacy of passion and an unquenchable thirst for victory in the purest form of the game.
