5 reasons why Katya and Trixie Mattel's show UNHhhh gave me a drag orgasm!

Former queens from RuPaul's Drag Race, Katya Zamolodchikova and Trixie Mattel's show UNHhhh is the perfect blend of drag and comedy!

There's not a single day where we don't catch ourselves binging on random YouTube videos. Since the pandemic hit us badly, our 3 am binge list has food recipes that we swore we were going to try someday and a plethora of cat videos that releases our dopamine. The thing with YouTube videos is it's a love/hate trail of addiction which we voluntarily take part in. And for people like me who grew up watching Western television a lot, watching YouTube videos felt so comfy. From watching Shane Dawson's conspiracy theories to James Charles' make-up tutorials, consuming content on YouTube contributed to who I am today.

When I was scrolling on YouTube not long ago, I came across two beautiful and unapologetically funny drag queens, Katya and Trixie Mattel who are a match made in comedy heaven! From them talking about the stupidest things to topics that resonate with my queer personality, binging their videos saved my life in more ways than one. Katya and Trixie Mattel have managed to carve out a special place in the hearts of the queer community with UNHhhh. Through their genuine friendship, unfiltered humour, and relatable topics, they have created a YouTube show that constantly entertain queer audiences worldwide through their magic.

A match made in comedy heaven

We got to know about their dynamic on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race and at that moment it was pretty clear that this is going to be special. Although they competed against each other on the show, their friendship blossomed after the cameras stopped rolling. Recognising the comedic gold they possessed as a duo, they decided to create their own YouTube series which gave birth to UNHhhh.

Authenticity and unfiltered humour

With no script and minimal editing, the duo embraces their queer selves, resulting in a raw and refreshing comedic experience for us. Katya and Trixie seemed to have mastered the art of being honest and vulnerable in the funniest way. The random thoughts that they have on the show have to be my favourite part about them.

Topics that resonate

Although Katya and Trixie are known for their comedic presence, they never disappoint us to give what's real. Whether they're discussing their dating mishaps, childhood traumas, or sharing bizarre stories from their own lives, they have a knack for finding humour every day. Turning a relatable experience and giving it a hilarious twist is what makes them a comedic genius.

Iconic catchphrases and memorable moments

In the span of 206 episodes, the duo has given us some iconic lines from the show that we end up quoting IRL. Not to forget memes that take over the internet after every episode that the duo airs. Gays eagerly await each episode, hoping to discover the next viral phrase or meme-worthy scene that they can share with fellow gaybies.

Building a community

When they're not joking, they are creating a safe space for the queer community. Just like me, many queer people find solace in the show's inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Katya and Trixie have created a home for millions of queer people through their videos.
