Annabelle Sethupathi trailer: Beauty and the Beast gets a comedy Tamil remix with a twist

Annabelle Sethupathi trailer was released and it has Taapsee Pannu-Vijay Sethupathi, a haunted house, and a whole lot of comedy.

Annabelle Sethupathi starring Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu released its trailer recently and it seems like a unique Tamil mix of Beauty and the Beast. It showcases the story of king Raja Rathore (Vijay Sethupathi), who built a magnificent castle in the 1940s for his lover Annabelle (Taapsee Pannu). A rich man played by Jagapathi Babu is taken by the architectural beauty of the palace and asks to buy it. But the Raja refuses as it's a token of his love just like the Taj Mahal and he wants this place to be remembered in her memory. But in 2021 we see a lookalike of Annabelle who comes with a small family, daring to live in this palace which is now said to be haunted.

A sea of friendly ghosts are then seen who are stuck inside the palace for some reason and the only way for them to be free is through this lookalike girl. Hence the ghosts, the girl, the palace, and the Raja give us a series of comedic errors. And since the horror-comedy genre is the new trend, this film follows the same route. With a lot of confusion, witty dialogues, and cliche storylines, this film seems to be heavily reliant on its stars and punchlines. Whether it succeeds in its genre or not remains to be seen!

Annabelle Sethupathi also stars Rajendra Prasad, Radhikaa Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Vannella Kishore, Chetan, Devadarshini, Subbu Panchu, Madhumitha, Raja Sundaram, Suresh Menon, George Maryan, Raj Kumar, Sunil, and Surekha. This film also marks filmmaker Deepak Sundarrajan's debut and will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 17.
