A small argument between Bollywood actors Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah took place after the latter called Kher a clown & his words should not be taken seriously.

In a recent interview with ‘The Wire’ famous Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah was asked about his opinion regarding the recently adopted CAA bill. He is one of the many prominent Muslim actors who shared his disapproval with the bill that it will give citizenship to immigrants based on their religion. In the interview, the actor shared his support for Deepika Padukone who was in news for showing her solidarity to the students of JNU who faced violence. Calling her courageous, he said that her popularity will help in the protest. But he had less kind words for his A Wednesday co-star, Anupam Kher. Naseeruddin referred to him having a sycophantic nature. Anupam Kher who is always very vocal about his support to the government’s policies was called a clown by Naseeruddin. In his interview with The Wire, Naseeruddin said, “Someone like Anupam Kher has been very vocal. I don’t think he needs to be taken seriously. He’s a clown. Any number of his contemporaries from NFD and FTII can attest to his sycophantic nature. It’s in his blood, he can’t help it.”

Anupam Kher however, posted a video on his Twitter account as a reply to the actor’s comment calling him a clown. He said that he doesn’t take him seriously and that he considers himself to be in a good place since Naseeruddin has criticised actors like Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Ruk Khan in past.
