It’s been a week since the Cannes Film Festival commenced and we’ve had an abundance of highlights every single day! Here’s what happened at the French Riviera on day 7!
As we enter the latter half of the festival we’re beginning to see a plethora of A listers on the carpet. Day 7 consisted of a screening of Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest which stars the one and only Denzel Washington. A$AP Rocky and Rihanna stole the spotlight as they were also graced the red carpet before the screening of the film. Satyajit Ray’s Aranyer Din Ratri had a special screening at the festival. The film was helped restored by Wes Anderson. Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal were in attendance for the screening of the film. Dakota Johnson also made her debut at the festival last night for her film ‘Splistville’ which is directed by Michael Angelo Covino. Adria Arjona is also a part of the film and was seen alongside her boyfriend Jason Momoa on the carpet.

Hollywood director Spike Lee who has made critically acclaimed films like Blackkklansman, made his debut at the Cannes Film Festival with his latest project Highest 2 Lowest. The film stars popular names like Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky along with Ilfenesh Hadera, Dean Winters and Jeffrey Wright. The entire cast of the film was present on the carpet.
Post the screening of the film, Denzel Washington received an Honorary Palme D’or for his contribution to cinema. The actor looked rather stunned to be receiving the award and gave an emotional speech.
A$AP Rocky was seen on the carpet alongside Rihanna who was seen flaunting her baby bump yet again post her iconic red carpet look at the Met Gala earlier this month.

Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal graced the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, celebrating the 4k restored version of Satyajit Ray’s ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’. Wes Anderson introduced the film, highlighting its impact on world cinema. Sharmila Tagore also spoke about Indian cinema’s rich history at Cannes.
Dakota Johnson made her debut at Cannes for her film ‘Splitsville’ directed by Michael Angelo Covino. The film received a six minute standing ovation post the screening. Adria Arjona showed on the carpet along with her plus one Jason Momoa.

Lastly, Fabulous Wives of Bollywood Wives fame Shalini Passi also made head turn last night at the red carpet. She made her debut in custom Manish Malhotra which is supposed to be her tribute to Indian heritage and the intricate craftsmanship.
