The film revolves around Balmukund aka Bala (Ayushmann Khurrana), a man who is dealing with premature balding. The opening scene takes us to the time when Bala was a schoolboy. Known as 'King Khan' of his mohalla who was a pro in impressing girls with his swag and cute dimples. His dark-complexioned friend Latika Trivedi played by, Bhumi Pedneker, saw herself fall prey to Bala's bullying as a kid who was extremely proud of his 'ghane baal' and charming looks.

Fast forward to 2016, when he has lost all his confidence after he experiences premature balding. After witnessing his girlfriend leaving him for someone with more hair, to being demoted in his job, he goes on to try every possible remedy that will help him grow back his hair. Then begins the love story between Pari played by, Yami Gautam and him who is the face of the fairness cream that he sells and also a TikTok star. Uh! Did I mention, TikTok plays a major role in the movie bringing in that extra tadka to the film?

Ayushmann has given his best shot in playing Balmukund with his smart portrayal bringing the small nuances of life on screen. Bhumi who is a lawyer plays a strong, unapologetic character who is confident about her complexion with no regards to beauty standards. Yami plays that cute small-town girl, who fits perfectly into the role without having to put in a lot of efforts. From Saurabh Shukla and Abhishek Banerjee to Jaaved Jaaferi, every character actor has delivered their role with a flavour that is unique to themselves. Special mention, the monologue by Bala's brother. You can't ignore it while watching the movie.

Here is how people reacted to the movie:
