Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5 is amassing impressive numbers at the box office despite receiving disappointing reviews from the critics. The comedy, helmed by director Tarun Mansukhani earned Rs. 91.93 crore over the weekend and is expected to soon enter the 100 crore club. The makers renovated the franchise by introducing a murder-mystery angle aboard a lavish cruise ship. The biggest talking point of the film was its two climaxes - 5A and 5B, featuring different killers in each version, which also sparked curiosity among the audience.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Housefull 5 marks Akshay Kumar’s biggest opening weekend in the post-pandemic era, even surpassing Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (Rs. 77.08 crores). The film opened to a solid start on Friday raking Rs. 24.35 crore, and went on to improve its performance with Rs. 32.38 and Rs. 35.10 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

In terms of 2025 Bollywood openings, Housefull 5 currently ranks third, trailing behind Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (Rs 31 crore) and Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 26 crore) for opening day collections. Over the weekend, it witnessed the second-highest haul of the year, only behind Chhaava’s impressive Rs 121.43 crore. The film boasts of an exciting ensemble cast with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh reprising their roles, and the inclusion of Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Nana Patekar.
