Adjoa Andoh aka Lady Danbury of Bridgerton spills the tea on Regé-Jean Page's exit

Adjoa Andoh who plays Lady Danbury in Netflix's popular series, Bridgerton reveals why Regé-Jean Page aka Simon quit the show.

Regé-Jean Page broke all of the hearts around when he informed that he will be exiting Netflix's popular series Bridgerton. The series is shooting for its season 2 but Simon aka The Duke will not be a part of the season. This news came as shock to the fans of the show who had been eagerly waiting for its next season. Since the news, various theories have been doing rounds. But Adjoa Andoh aka Lady Danbury in talks with E! News spills the tea as to why this decision was made.

While the viewers' self-woven theories have reached the conclusion that the makers have killed Simon's character Andoh says it's something else. She revealed that Page's departure from the show is because of the arch of the show. This season will follow the life of Anthony Bridgerton essayed by Jonathan Bailey. Talking to E! News, Andoh said, "We're following the overriding framework of Julia Quinn's beautiful novels. There are eight Bridgerton children: one down, seven to go,". Season two, it's Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) so there you are. That's the arc of the show."

Whatever the reason behind his exit, it will cost a huge blow to the show's audience who loved the character. People are surely going to miss the 'Daphne and Simon' moments. The show is the first collaboration of Shonda Rhimes with Netflix. Andoh plays the role of Lady Danbury who is like a mother-figure to the Duke of Hastings, Simon.

We can't bring back the Duke but here's over 4 minutes of Simon being his charming self:
