Embracing creativity, being unapologetic to trusting their own vision, content creators and entrepreneurs Sonika Khurana, Tanya Mehra, Simran Balar Jain, Sarah Sarosh, Asha Gupta, and Ruchi Nayak share aspects that helped them become the leaders of today!

Nothing is more stimulating than seeing a fellow woman confidently claiming her seat at the table. These role models have become the cornerstone for many young minds encouraging us to work towards our own goals. Most of this inspiration also comes from knowing that these female powerhouses shattered every barrier that once convinced us that women didn't belong in leadership positions. Fortunately, there have been multiple success stories that defied this very idea and proved what being their own person can bring to the table.

A few years ago, watching women openly talk about their sexual pleasure would have been frowned upon, but Simran Balar Jain decided to talk about this farfetched idea to help young women overcome the fear of their own bodies. Tanya Mehra decided to embrace her life as a mom and chose to share this journey with the world in ways that challenge what the traditional role stood for. While being a lifestyle and beauty influencer, Sarah Sarosh took on the role of the founder and decided to build a brand of her own. Sonika Khurrana, Asha Gupta, and Ruchi Nayak, who successfully run their own business continue to contribute in ways that are super inspirational. Considering how these content creators and business owners have been able to smash barriers along the way,  we asked them to share their insights that helped them achieve these goals.

Here's what they had to share

Sonika Khurana - Interior Design Educator and Founder of Coloraza Design Studio

“As a woman breaking barriers in my industry, I'd say this - own your unique voice and stay authentic. In a world that often pushes us to fit a mold, being yourself is your greatest superpower. When you focus on your uniqueness, the right community will find you. The design world is evolving, and authenticity connects more than ever. Whether you're crafting spaces or content, don’t just follow trends; set them. Stay true to your style, embrace creativity, and use your platform to inspire and educate. Be fearless in carving your own path whether that means challenging outdated norms, redefining beauty in design, or building a business on your terms. Your impact isn’t just in what you create, but in how you empower others to dream bigger.”

Tanya Mehra - Mom Influencer and Child Nutritionist

“As a mom blogger and single mother, I’ve learned that resilience, consistency and authenticity are key to breaking barriers. Embrace your journey, no matter how unconventional, and turn challenges into opportunities. For aspiring leaders, my advice is to stay true to your purpose, uplift others, and never let societal norms define your potential. Success follows those who dare to create their own path.”

Simran Balar Jain - Sex-Ed, Lifestyle and Wellness Creator and Founder of UnBound

“Your voice is your power; use it unapologetically. As women, we’re often told to fit into boxes, but the real magic happens when we break them. Own your story, embrace your uniqueness, and never hesitate to take up space. Success isn’t about being fearless; it’s about moving forward despite the fear. Keep learning, keep evolving, and most importantly, lift others as you rise.”

Sarah Sarosh - Beauty Creator and Founder of Impulse Coffees

“The most valuable lesson I’ve learned and one that everyone should embrace is the power of confidence. While it may seem like cliche advice, it remains timeless. Confidence shapes the way you communicate, how you present yourself in meetings, and how you interact with everyone from vendors and manufacturers to CEOs, investors, and industry leaders. Whether you're pitching an idea, leading a funding round, or showcasing your expertise, unwavering confidence is crucial. Being knowledgeable about your field is essential, but even when gaps exist, trust that you can learn and grow. Hesitation, uncertainty, or a lack of self-assurance can lead others to undermine you. Confidence is a key driver of success, especially in leadership roles. If you don’t believe in yourself or what you’re offering, be it your skills or a product, you’ll struggle to convince others.”

Asha Gupta - Founder, Asha Gautam

"Passion and perseverance are the strongest allies on any journey, especially when you're trying to break barriers. As women, we often feel the need to prove ourselves at every step — but the most important lesson I've learned is to trust your own vision and let your work speak for itself. When I started this journey, my love for Indian crafts was my guiding light. There were times when traditional textiles and handmade techniques were losing their significance, but I always believed that our heritage holds immense beauty and value. My advice to the next generation of women leaders is to embrace your individuality, uplift others along the way, and stay rooted in your purpose. Success is not just about creating something new, but about carrying forward what is timeless with a fresh perspective."

Ruchi Nayak - Partner at The Catalyst

"The world has become an increasingly competitive space, and as we embark on our journey to make a mark in the industry, there will be moments of disappointment. You may encounter people who don’t believe in your vision, but don’t let that lead to comparison or self-doubt. Success comes when you stay focused and truly believe in your path. Always remember—one of the most transformative pieces of advice is to trust your instincts, take risks, embrace mistakes, and walk your own path."
