New Update
AI in 2024

Be it the content creation or music, AI saw a rise in 2024 with artists and creators using it to assist in bringing their visions to life. Suriya Mishra, Peri Brahma and Zupiter talk to us about the same.

2024 has undeniably been a landmark year for AI in the realm of content creation. With advancements in AI technology, content generation has become more efficient, creative, and accessible than ever before. AI-powered tools have streamlined the process of writing articles, generating scripts, crafting poems, and even composing music. These tools have not only saved time but also opened up new possibilities for content creators, enabling them to experiment with different styles, tones, and formats. Since AI continues to evolve, it is poised to reshape the future of content creation, making it more innovative and personalised. Considering how this year has come to an end, it is only fair to ask the people who have been part of the growing entertainment industry to understand how AI has impacted them and their work.

Peri Brahma is a beauty and fashion influencer who works on delivering well-thought-out and curated content. As someone who talks about beauty and skincare, her content involves reviews and giving honest opinions on products people can use. With the rise of AI tools, many creators can now enhance their work by editing photos and videos, planning content, scripting, animating, and adding auto-captions to their videos. This trend is particularly interesting for creators like Peri, who emphasise a personal touch in their content. What I also noticed was a growth in the number of ‘Faceless Accounts’ in different categories of content creation, from beauty to informative travel content with incredible visuals comprised of unique photo/ video illustrations and voice enhancement tools, making the genre more diverse. In the last few months, there were multiple active AI trends that managed to increase curiosity and involve millions to take part in those trends.”

Meanwhile, creators like Suriya Mishra, who curates scripted content based on caricatures of people while drawing inspiration from real life, feel that this growing popularity of AI, especially in content creation, has its positive and negative impacts. According to her, the positive impact of AI this year was how it made content creation quicker and easier. "It helps with brainstorming ideas, automating tasks, and customising content for different people. This lets creators spend more time being creative and telling stories, while AI handles the boring stuff." And while talking about the negative impact, Suriya highlights the feel of it. "Using AI too much can make content feel less personal and more robotic. It can take away the human touch that makes the content feel real and relatable. Sometimes, AI misses the emotions and details that only a human can add."

Like the content space, the presence of AI was also huge in the music industry. Artists leaned on it to help them assist in bringing their creations to life. Jupiter Mwshahari , aka Zupiter , who has been producing his own music, was also able to note the positive and negative impact that AI has had on the music industry, especially for electronic music producers. "Tools powered by AI have made sound design, mixing, and mastering faster and more efficient, opening up creative possibilities. However, as a producer and musician, I prefer to handle most aspects of my music myself rather than relying heavily on AI. While AI can be a great tool for inspiration, I find that true creativity comes from a more hands-on approach. There’s a certain authenticity and emotional depth that only human touch can bring, and I value that in my process."

From the technical aspects of the music industry to something like content creation that requires personal experiences to share a story, AI has found it's space in everything. Although the debate continues over whether it serves as a helpful tool or diminishes the art, one lesson from 2024 is clear: while we may not be able to stop technology from becoming part of our enjoyment, we can learn to coexist with it.
