Be it a small cameo or a full-fledged storyline, these digital content creators have managed to find their way into the movies. If you missed them, here's a list of creators we loved in these Malayalam movies.
I’m a firm believer in “Reel-ationship”. You know the one that is an extension of your friendship that is solely based on finding posts that you know your friend will relate to? Often, you don't need words, the videos and sometimes the creators themselves become your way of communicating. In between these likes and shares, we find joy in a creator's work, laughing at their content together and being amazed at how they come up with these ideas. These creators unknowingly become part of your friendship, which is why we feel excited when we see them succeed beyond their social media presence.
Movies are often seen as significant milestones for creators. All the efforts they put into creating and playing characters are usually driven by their desire to be part of the big screen. And when they finally make it to the silver screen, you can’t help but cheer like watching your friend get their big break. Considering how most have turned out to be just another marketing ploy to attract a larger audience, we don't always expect them to be good. Fortunately, Malayalam movies have been able to nail their casting by onboarding creators who now have a memorable character to their name. These creators not only scored a good deal, but also ended up in projects that are commercial successes.

Here are some of our favourites:
Arun Pradeep - Padakkalam:
Arun Pradeep, celebrated for his humour and heartfelt melodies, has captured the internet's heart for some time now. It was genuinely entertaining to witness him bring this same lively personality on a larger screen in Padakkalam. This film delves into a fantastical world set against a college backdrop, with Arun's one-liners and expressions making you chuckle throughout.
Ameen, Shahubas, Nihal Nizam and Nibraz Noushad - Detective Ujjwalan:
The group known for their hilarious dramatisations of everyday life, Ameen, Shahubas, Nihal, and Nibraz, has become a household name. Their sketches are the type of well-thought-out yet brainless content that allows you to unwind after a long day. The group finally made it to the big screen with Rahul G. and Indraneel Gopeekrishnan's Detective Ujjwalan. As they have managed to expand their fan base through their fun banter with Dyaan Srinivasan during promotional interviews, their big-screen performance was truly entertaining.
Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy and Vinayak Mali in Vazha
Known for their ability to turn the most bizarre conversations into entertaining ones, Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak Mali have built their own online audience. Their collaboration on a film like Vazha, which explores a group of misfits struggling to meet their parents' expectations while wanting to enjoy life, comes as no surprise. After a strong cameo in the movie, the group is gearing up to take on the role as the leads in the second installment of the film, which revolves around their characters.
Hipzster aka Pranav Raj in Aavesham
Hipzter, a gamer and YouTuber recognized for his quick wit and sassy comebacks, played an important role in the film Aavesham. His transformation from the leader of the group to a character who becomes frightened added an exciting twist to the already engaging storyline. It was refreshing to see him portray such a memorable character in one of the most celebrated movies of 2024.
Chippy Devassy and Amal Thaha - Oru Jaathi Jaathakam
Amal and Chippy are part of one of the most celebrated digital creator groups in Kerala. Their ability to turn any trending topics into a piece of engaging content has shown how creative they can be. Having the two play an interesting part in a family-entertainer movie like Oru Jaathi Jaathakam, which was able to blend various laugh-out-loud moments into the plot, seemingly, cannot be missed.
Jisma Ji ji - Painkili
Jisma is someone who has developed an online persona around how versatile she is as an actor. People have been following her digital series, short films, and even fashion. Considering her talent, her transition from a digital creator to an actor on the big screen couldn't have been more natural. In a movie filled with at least one over-the-top performance from the actors, she portrayed an adorable, jealous neighbor that audiences wouldn't mind meeting in real life.
Steffy Sunny - Paalthu Jaanvar
Despite her digital persona, which revolves around finding humor in daily life, Steffy surprised everyone by presenting herself as a completely different character in the film Paalthu Jaanvar. She not only had the opportunity to portray the daughter of the legendary actor Indranath but also made a memorable impact during her brief appearance on screen.
