New Update
Paloma Diamond

Only a chronically online person can understand the gravity of wanting to see Paloma Diamond, a visionary actress, win her Oscar. However, if you are still wondering who she is, here’s what you need to know.

It was not long ago that Oscar nominations were announced. While people were both happy and underwhelmed about the list, there was a section of the internet that was upset over one of their favourite actors being left out of the nominations. No, we are not talking about Daniel Craig for Queer or Kani Kusruti for All We Imagine As Light. We're referring to Paloma Diamond, Lorelai Lynch or Yolanda Fontaine. Paloma Diamond, a fictional character created by content creator and TikToker Julian Sewell, has become so popular that people are rooting for her to win big during this award season. This sadness did not last too long after Julian dropped his iconic montage of all his fictional characters bidding against each other to win the Oscar 2025 for Best Actress.

Something that started off as a joke has become a cult among the netizens as they have embraced Julian’s cinematic universe and the characters in it. When he posted a parody video of actresses at the Oscar nominations, playing each character himself, it did not take people time to buy into this fictional world. While there were multiple actresses, one who clearly stood out was Paloma Diamond. With her grey sleek bob and personality that closely resembles seasoned actors like Meryl Streep and Glenn Close, Paloma became a crowd favorite, so much so, that many were upset over her being snubbed from the Oscars that year.

This gag has been continuing since and is back after people anticipate this year's winners. This year Julian posted a trailer of his popular characters fighting to win the Best Actress award, and it has left a ruffle among the fans. From pretending to have watched and reviewed these fictional movies to talking highly about each character in the comments, people are doing everything to see their favorite fictional actor lift the award.

By the looks of how people have been reacting to the nominations, it seems like there is a higher support for Yolanda Fontaine and her horror film that has made it to the Oscar nominations. Some people are trying to tarnish Paloma's reputation by bringing up her feud with Lorelai Lynch. But the audience continues to put forward their case on why Paloma is a rightful nominee who has been snubbed repeatedly in the past despite being a director, writer and actor in her movies.

Here are some of her previous works that show why she deserves the Oscar!
