Meta has apologized for a technical error that caused violent and graphic content to appear in Instagram’s Reels tab on February 27, 2025. Many users reported a sudden increase in disturbing content, including violent attacks, accidents, and other NSFW material. Addressing the issue, a Meta spokesperson confirmed that the problem had been fixed, stating, “We have resolved an error that caused some users to see content that should not have been recommended. We apologize for the mistake.” The incident led to widespread discussions across social media, with users questioning the platform’s content moderation system.
