Dobaaraa

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dobaaraa starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles is a thriller sci-fi horror involving a murder mystery that changes reality.

With an electrical storm, a murder mystery, time jumps, and a thrilling storyline, the trailer of Dobaaraa leave you confused and intrigued about what's really happening in the film. Directed by the thriller cult director, Anurag Kashyap, it stars Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati together once again. Nandini (Taapsee) is living with her husband and daughter when an electric storm strikes and they chance upon a TV with a camera belonging to a young boy who's apparently involved in a murder mystery some 26 years ago. While she tries to join the dots of the happenings in her house, she's taken back to the present where she meets Pavail who is a police officer trying to solve a murder case.

Apparently, it looks like Taapsee is able to time travel and has changed the past which has, in turn, changed her present. She can't understand anything that's happening which is precisely how the audience feels too while watching this trailer! She even goes to a doctor to get some kind of explanation for it all. The trailer says "the same electric storm takes you to a murder that changes reality". What does that mean though? Guess we'll find out on August 19! It also looks like the title of the film is a play on the plot of the film "Dobaaraa" meaning "once again" also written as "Do Baaraa" as the numerical "2:12" and that probably depicts a time that's important to the film!

This film will mark as Anurag Kashyap's and Taapsee Pannu's second collaboration together after Manmarziyaan as well as it will mark Taapsee's second film with Pavail Gulati after Thappad. Given that this one looks like a psychological sci-fi horror it makes it one of a kind of film and hope that it brings a refreshing change to both sci-fi and horror genre both of which doesn't have great track record in India.
