Lions are incredible animals that depict a sense of pride and power. We won't be 'lion' is we said that there is no better animal to be called the King than these big cats of the jungle. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful animals from the wild. We cannot stop admiring at its majestic appearance and that clearly shows in our arts from around the world that shows sculptures and figures of lions as a symbol of power. In order to celebrate this amazing animal, the world celebrates World Lion Day on August 10th.

The day was started by Dereck and Beverly Joubert, a husband-and-wife team with a passion for big cats. They began the initiative in 2013, bringing together both National Geographic and the Big Cat Initiative under a single banner to protect the remaining big cats living in the wild.
