I used to be so insecure about summer because I thought I didn’t have the legs to pull off shorts. What I realized after years of self-esteem building and daily effort that still continues today, is that it wasn’t my legs that held me back from wearing what I wanted — it was my lack of confidence and the belief that I didn’t deserve to wear certain things because my body didn’t look like the models and actresses I saw in the media, therefore it wasn’t worthy of praise, love or admiration, let alone wearing cute clothes. Now I wear all the things I used to be afraid of, because life is too short to be at war with yourself, and it’s way too hot to not wear the shorts!
