And in the realm of cinema, the 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday to celebrate the excellence in the industry.

Selena Gomez surprised her fans with her new song Single Soon. The song celebrates her independence and happiness as a single woman. The song is also accompanied by a video that features Selena wearing a red dress and breaking up with her boyfriend via a Post-It note, recreating the iconic Sex and the City scene. Selena said that she wanted to put out a fun song for the end of summer, while she is still working on her third studio album.

Sukhee starring Shilpa Shetty to hit theaters on September 22

The film is a fun entertainer directed by debutant Sonal Joshi and produced by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment. Shilpa plays the role of Sukhpreet ‘Sukhee’ Kalra, a Punjabi housewife who goes to Delhi with her friends to attend their school reunion after 20 years. The film also features Kusha Kapila, Dilnaz Irani, Pavleen Gujral, Chaitannya Choudhry and Amit Sadh in pivotal roles. 

Kareen Kapoor announces her debut OTT film Jaane Jaan alongside Vijay Verma

Jaane Jaan, the OTT debut film of Kareena Kapoor Khan, is set to release on Netflix on September 21. The film is a crime thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh and co-starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. The film is based on the critically acclaimed novel Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino.

The official trailer of Netflix's Friday Night Plan is out, and the series is set to be released on September 1. It is a comedy-drama starring Babil Khan and Juhi Chawla, and produced by Excel Entertainment. It is about two brothers who plan to have a fun night while their mother is away, but things go wrong when their party gets out of control. 

Neeraj Pandey’s Khakee season 2 is coming soon on Netflix

Netflix India has announced that it has renewed its crime thriller series Khakee for a second season. The show is helmed by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, who is known for his projects like A Wednesday and Special 26. The first season of Khakee was released in November 2022 and received positive reviews from the audience and critics. 

Bambai Meri Jaan starring Kay Kay Menon to stream soon on Prime Video

Bambai Meri Jaan is a new series that will be coming soon on Amazon Prime Video. It is a crime thriller series produced by Excel Media and Entertainment, and created by Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudagar. The series stars Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur in pivotal roles. The series is based on the story by S. Hussain Zaidi, who is a renowned author and journalist, who has written several books on the underworld and crime in Mumbai.

 

The Boys spin off series, Gen V is coming soon on Prime Video

Gen V, a spin-off series of The Boys is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 29. It is a crime thriller series that follows the training of the first generation of superheroes to learn about Compound V, a mysterious substance that grants powers to humans. The series features an ensemble cast of Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigos

The trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Haddi is out now

Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Haddi trailer out. The movie will premiere on Zee5 on September 7. It is a crime thriller directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma and produced by Sanjay Saha and Raadhika Nanda. Nawazuddin plays the role of a transgender who joins a gang of transgenders in Delhi and gets into a war with a gangster-turned-politician, played by Anurag Kashyap, to take revenge for his family. The movie also features Ila Arun, Rajpal Yadav, and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles.
