All the new content announced this week only has us excited for what our watchlists are going to look like in the near future.
Apple TV+ is set to bring us new seasons for its hit shows, Platonic and Ted Lasso that include popular names like Seth Rogen and Jason Sudeikis respectively. Netflix is bringing us another season with the Addams family with Wednesday. Powerhouses of talent like Leonardo Dicaprio, Paul Mescal and Josh O’ Connor are ready to make their big screen comeback with rather interesting films! Huma Qureshi’s Bayaan makes it to TIFF’s screening list. Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav’s Tu Yaa Main brings new producers on board. The iconic Devil Wears Prada which has all of us hyped with a sequel has a new cast member and the Academy Award winning actor only adds to the excitement!

Cillian Murphy joins the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2
Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently under production and all of New York has been spotting the stars from the main cast filming in the city this week. But what came as a total surprise was when they saw Cillian Murphy also filming for the highly anticipated movie. Given that we have only seen Murphy in darker themes so far, it would be rather refreshing to see him in a movie about fashion and glamour and what is his take on it!

Netflix renews Wednesday for a third season
As we gear for the premiere of the second season, Netflix announces that a third installment for Wednesday is soon to arrive as well! The popular show stars Jenna Ortega in the lead who plays Wednesday Adams, the notorious misfit who gets expelled from school due to her unusual behaviour. Gwendolne Christie also plays a pivotal role in the show.
Apple TV+ unveils first look for Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne starrer Platonic season 2
After his hit show ‘The Studio’ with Apple TV+, Seth Rogen is coming back with yet another project with the platform. Renewing Platonic season 2, both Rogen and Rose Byrne will be seen resuming their friendship in the show that will stream August 6 onwards!
Anand L Rai’s Colour Yellow and Vinod Bhanushali’s Bhanushali’s Studios team up to produce Tu Yaa Main
Starring Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav, Tu Yaa Main’s teaser created quite a lot of hype ever since it dropped. To add to that, the maker of the film, Anand L Rai is joining hands with Bhansali Studios to bring together a series of creative films in the future, starting with Tu Yaa Main. We can’t wait to see what the film has in store for us in the coming future!
Bayaan starring Huma Qureshi to premiere at TIFF
Written and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, Bayaan stars Huma Qureshi in the lead as a police officer. The film has been selected to premiere at TIFF in the Discovery section at the film festival. The film also stars Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, and Paritosh Sand.
Ted Lasso officially begins production
Ted Lasso season 4 is officially rolling and not in Richmond but in Kansas City this time. Of course a lot of popular faces from the show will be recurring. We see Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple and Brett Goldstein in the short first glimpse that dropped earlier this week. There will also be many new faces in the new season including Ted’s son, Henry who would have more of a screen time this time around.
The History of Sound starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor trailer released
The first trailer for Oliver Hermanus‘ poetic The History of Sound, starring Josh O’Connor and Paul Mescal, dropped today. The World War I love story is adapted from Ben Shattuck’s Pushcart prize-winning short story. Molly Price, Alison Bartlett and Chris Cooper also play pivotal roles in the film.
Leonardo Dicaprio’s One Battle After Another trailer released
One Battle After Another centers around a group of radical revolutionaries known as the French 75. The film stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti in the leads. The film is set to release on September 26.

The 25 OTT platforms banned by the Centre include ALTBalaji (now ALTT), Ullu, Big Shots App, Desiflix, Boomex, NeonX VIP, Navarasa Lite, Gulab App, Kangan App, Bull App, ShowHit, Jalva App, Wow Entertainment, Look Entertainment, Hitprime, Fugi, Feneo, ShowX, Sol Talkies, Adda TV, HotX VIP, Hulchul App, MoodX, Triflicks, and Mojflix for violating Indian laws by streaming obscene and pornographic content. The Ministry stated the shows lacked storylines and featured explicit visuals without context. Despite earlier warnings, the platforms continued to flout IT Rules and obscenity laws. Some content also depicted inappropriate sexual scenarios involving family members, raising legal and moral concerns.
Hot Milk will be available to stream exculsively on MUBI from August 22nd, 2025
BAFTA-nominated writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s directorial debut, Hot Milk, will be available to stream exclusively on MUBI from 22 August 2025. Starring BAFTA award-winning Emma Mackey, Emmy and BAFTA TV nominated Fiona Shaw, Vicky Krieps, Vincent Perez, Yann Gael, and Patsy Ferran. Based on Deborah Levy’s Booker Prize and Goldsmiths Prize short-listed novel of the same name, Hot Milk received its World Premiere in Competition at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.
