Everything you need to know about the Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne 2023!


The Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne will run from August 9 to 20 featuring celebs like Rani Mukerji, Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and more!

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is the largest annual celebration of Indian cinema outside of India. It showcases some of the most diverse, inclusive, and groundbreaking films and filmmakers from the Indian subcontinent. The festival will showcase a wide range of films from different genres, languages, and regions, such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and more. The festival will also host several events and activities, such as the IFFM awards night, where films and filmmakers will be honoured; the IFFM Independence Day celebrations, where the Indian flag will be hoisted by the legendary actress Shabana Azmi; the IFFM Dance Competition, where talented dancers will showcase their skills; and the IFFM Chats where actors and directors will have a chat with Rajeev Masand on topics like navigating narratives and sustainability and the climate crisis around cinema. Some of the guests who will participate in IFFM Chats are Karan Johar, Rana Daggubati, Bhumi Pednekar, Hanu Raghavapudi, Mrunal Thakur, Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt.

The festival will have some of the finest filmmakers and stars from India and the subcontinent as guests, like R. Balki, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Kartik Aaryan, Saiyami Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Angad Bedi, Sunny Leone, Rahul Bhat, Megha Burman, and more. Karan Johar will be starting the festival as their first guest as he completes his 25 years in the industry. A special masterclass will be held by Rani Mukerji where she guides you through an exclusive conversation on craft, characters and the power of cinema.
