Twitter celebrates Indian Navy Day by saluting our brave heroes

Here's how Tweeple remembered and honored the memory of some of India's heroes on Indian Navy Day!

December 4 is the Indian Navy Day, a day that memorializes the attack on Karachi harbour during the India-Pakistan war in 1971. That attack led to the ultimate victory of Indian Armed forces over Pakistan.

The theme of this year's Indian Navy day is 'Indian Navy combat Ready, Credible and Cohesive'. The navy is ready to face the challenges of Covid 19 and Chinese attempts to change status quo along northern borders. A statement regarding the same was given by Admiral Karambir Singh, the Navy chief on the eve of Indian Navy Day. On Navy Day, various events are organised by the Indian Navy to reach out to citizens through various mass contact programmes. This year due to the Covid-19 forced restrictions, the outreach has turned largely virtual. Some of the activities include the 360-degree Virtual Reality Tour of INS Vikramaditya.
